Write Online was founded in 2005 by former information technology specialist Kevin Carlton. It started out as an editorial business, but quickly shifted focus towards copywriting to meet increasing demand for quality website content.
In 2009, we were commissioned by a national retail chain to write content as part of the company's SEO strategy.
It was then we started to develop a deeper understanding of what differentiated successful websites from the countless number of also-rans.
And it was clear much of the difference was down to the layout and wording of the content.
So we researched and analysed a range of prolific websites. We followed leading authorities in SEO, social media, blog writing and website copywriting. We uncovered many of the secrets to attracting website visitors and converting them into paying customers.
And then we put our findings into practice.
As a result, clients came back to us time and again, helping us to build long-standing and prosperous business relationships.
Through the enquiries we received through our own website, it became clear many prospects wanted a writer with knowledge and experience in the cloud computing industry.
They no longer wanted the lengthy briefing processes they experienced with generalist writers.
They were tired of endless rounds of edits and revisions.
They just needed a specialist cloud content writer who had an instinct for what they wanted and could offer insights and ideas that added value to their content marketing campaigns.
And so Write Online has evolved into what it is today. It is now a dedicated cloud computing writer service, providing content about technologies such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, cybersecurity, DevOps and big data.
Write Online is owned by Kevin Carlton – a former development engineer and computer analyst/programmer.
Throughout his earlier career, he established a first-class reputation for writing systems documentation. This later inspired him to become a freelance IT copywriter.
Kevin's expertise, which also includes proofreading, copy-editing, SEO and landing page optimisation, can complement virtually any copywriting assignment.
However, he specialises in cloud computing, cybersecurity, data protection, regulatory compliance and big data, where he provides a unique combination of technical, marketing and writing skills that very few other copywriters can offer.
